Filming Our Opening Sequence

On Saturday in late November we drove to the center of Bristol to shoot our shots for our opening sequence on the streets of Bristol. We planned to arrive at around four, however due to heavy traffic we missed the dusk evening light that we wanted and by the time we got to our planned scene for the first shot it was already too dark. This caused us to have to change our planning to shoot on smaller iscolated streets as there was not enought natural or artifical light and film on larger and busier streets there there was more lighting from surrounding shops and street lamps. Although we then had to consider the public in the background of our shots we did manage to get a larger range as we had more options in locations where we could film the sequence.
For our second main location, we filmed our main character in a school sceneary which we would use for the flashbacks. This was easier to film as we could get more people to act natural in the background as we filmed our main character which prevented a vast amout of cropping and splitting needing to be done later on. We were able to find empty classrooms and corridors with few extras behind to show the iscolation the charater felt and explain why she had run away to bristol. For these shots we had previously planned all extra props and costumes, and were filming at 12 30pm so there were no issues with lighting, therefore we were able to film the shot efficiently and swiftly.
