Pink Panther
The opening sequence is a cartoon, unlike the rest of the film, with an illustration of the main character. Through the sequence we are given an introduction to the main character and are shown hints about the narrative.
The scattered bold letters with a fun font suggests the soft-hearted genre of the movie.
The light colour scheme with the youthful cartoon imply that this film was targeted at a younger audience (young adults and teenagers).
Throughout the sequence the credits and title are shown, beginning with the institution and classically ending with the director.
The music also suggests that the genre of the movie is a crime, because of the stereotypical mystery music.
The comedy element is also shown through the light-hearted humour between the pink panther and the main character.
The beginning of the
sequence shows the audience the ‘pink panther stone’ which the plot of the film
is based upon, revealing another aspect of the narrative.
